Big 4 Transparency Salary Guide pt. 2

US Tax and Audit for New York and San Francisco

Salary Guide - VHCOL Tax and Audit

In the last newsletter we covered 2023 Tax & Audit salaries for the US excluding NYC and the Bay Area. This time we want to make sure no one is feeling left out, so we’re covering those cities.

In the same format as the previous newsletter, we’ve prepared a 2023 salary guide for the cities that were previously skipped. The salaries shown below are for Tax and Audit streams in New York and San Francisco. We chose to present the VHCOL segment separately from the rest so as to not skew the averages being shown.

Each level is showing percentiles within the band so you can easily situate yourself based on how far along the band you are. For example, a first year manager might find themselves closer to the 25th percentile than a more experienced manager. The same can be said for other factors such as internal promotions earning slightly less on average than an external hire, or smaller firms generally paying less than a Big 4 would for a senior manager.

If you find this type of newsletter helpful and have made it all the way to the end, I’d love to hear from you with some thoughts and feedback. If you’ve got anything to share, or a topic to request, you can simply reply to the email to get in touch.

Thank you,

Dom
