The Big 4 Transparency Busy Season Morale Boost
Let’s face it, busy season can get us down sometimes.
Long hours, takeout dinners, and just hoping it’s all worth it when comp season rolls around. So this year, we’re doing something a little different.
The Busy Season Morale Boost
From March 15 to April 15, every North American salary submission on Big 4 Transparency will mean a donation to charity.
$1 per submission from us (Capped at $10,000 which would be a VERY ambitious goal)
$3 per submission matched by the community (on the first 500 submissions)
That’s $4 donated per submission for the first 500, and potentially quite a meaningful overall donation.
The charity?
Chosen by the community based on the most upvoted comment on this Reddit Thread (right now, mental health support is in the lead which feels pretty fitting).
Here’s the current state of things…
We’re currently sitting at just under 100 submissions.
Last year we did ~400 in this same window.
We can and should blow past that. There are 7,500 accountants reading this newsletter right now, and I know you’ll help spread the word.
Why this matters (especially right now)
Because this isn’t just about donations.
It’s about making sure that when compensation adjustments hit in the coming months, you actually know what you’re worth.
Every submission helps someone else answer: “am I being paid fairly?”
And during busy season, when you’re putting in the most and your firm is probably adjusting compensation in the next few months, that question matters a lot more.
So What Now?
To make an anonymous salary submission, head on over to Big4Transparency.com and fill out the form which should take 2 minutes at most.
If you feel more comfortable, you can generalize the firm name (ex: Top 25, Big 4, Large Regional).
Once you’ve made the submission, you’ll be redirected to a page that links you to the spreadsheet which you can view for free, and you’ll be contributing to a great cause.
And what really helps make this all work is if you can spread the word, even just to one friend or coworker who’s working in accounting.
Let’s see what this community can really do.
